Steel and Iron scrap that can be recycled are referred to as Heavy Melting Steel (HMS) or Heavy Melting Scrap. It is divided into two main categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2. HMS 2 may contain galvanized and blackened steel whereas HMS 1 does not.
